Enhancing Educational Outcomes For Plant Genetic Resources Conservation And Use
The long-term goal of this project is to expand the agricultural workforce that is well trained in subjects relevant to the acquisition, preservation, distribution, evaluation, and utilization of PGR and associated information.
Objectives:
- To create an administrative framework and conceptual pipeline for prioritizing, developing, reviewing, and distributing learning resources on PGR;
- To develop an organized series of learning resources (videos, ebook chapters, images, etc.) covering priority PGR topics;
- To establish an online repository to host, organize, and track usage of the developed content;
- To develop and offer three 1-credit graduate-level online course modules at CSU on PGR conservation and their use in plant breeding and genetics;
- To disseminate the developed materials broadly to communities of interest, including Tribal Colleges and 1890 land-grant universities.
